Joel on Microsoft APIs

Friday, June 18th, 2004

One of my favorite blogs is Joel on Software. He wrote a great article about How Microsoft Lost the API War. Near the end of it he gets to the web and he writes what I’ve been saying for at least the last few years:

It’s not that Microsoft didn’t notice this was happening. Of course [...]

WMP10 == Spy Ware?

Saturday, June 12th, 2004

I downloade Windows Media Player 10 beta a few days ago. I like it but as soon as I start it I see that my download goes from 0 to about 40kb/s. As soon as I close WMP it goes down to 0 again. I have no idea why it is behaving this way. Does [...]

WHAT WG Spoiler?

Thursday, June 10th, 2004

David Hyatt wrote in the WHAT WG mailing list:

Hot of the presses

Saturday, June 5th, 2004

I’ll get back to these when I have more time but I feel that these are really important things so I’ll just post the links for them now.
The minutes from the W3C Workshop on Web Application and Compound Document are now online. Day 1. Day 2. These are still drafts and they will most likely [...]

Change from MT?

Friday, June 4th, 2004

I’m considering switching from Movable Type to WordPress. The main reason is that I fucking hate how MT has to rebuild everything all the fucking time. Why not build it upon first request and then cache it?
Wanted features:

Needs to run on BSD, Apache 2, MySQL or PostGreSQL (Perl, PHP, Mono, Whatever++)
Should be able to send [...]
