Cidade de Deus 7

If you are going to watch only one movie this year don’t make that The Matrix or The Return of the King. Make that Cidade de Deus (City of God).

I knew this movie was going to be good. Guilherme Blanco recommended it a long time ago and when it finally arrived to the theatres here in Sweden it got top grade in all of the reviews.

Jag slänger in en kommentar på svenska.

Kan inte annat än att hålla med. Fruktansvärt bra film, utan tvekan en av dom bästa jag sett under 2000-talet. Hur bra som helst!

One of the best movies this decade.

Took some time, but at least you have a pleasure to watch a good film, one that I told you was one of the best films I watched in 2002.

I really want to read about the other comment. If you want to translate it, i’ll be gratefully.

Have you already watched it? How do you feel in the movie? A little bit uncorfortable, I think…
Of course, my country it’s not all this you watched… but we usually did it everyday! lol Just kidding… One day I’ll take some pics about my house & city to show you.

I only agreed to Erik when he said it was a great movie. I also wrote that it’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in this decade.

I wanted to go to Brazil this cristmas, but my “sponsor” didn’t like the idea, so now I’m off to India instead. But next year (when I plan to make my “around the world trip”) I will for shure visit Brazil for a month or two.

I watched the movie yesterday and I thought it was a great depiction of the favelas of Rio. It is a sad story, but a true one. The reality became a book and now the book has become a film. Sad movie, but real. *****
